Guild Partnership Gives Working Adults a Path to Upward Mobility
We closed out our fiscal year in June by announcing that we were launching a new partnership with Guild to create a path forward for America’s workforce through access to education.
Guild’s Career Opportunity Platform™ enables companies like Chipotle, Pitney Bowes, Target, Smithfield Foods, and Tyson Foods to invest in their employees by giving them access to New Readers Press High School Equivalency Preparation distance learning program.
Workers with a high school credential earn 25% more on average per week than those without a credential. As Guild’s only partner offering a path to high school equivalency, we are the springboard that will give many working adults the chance to consider higher education possibly for the first time.
Through the program, frontline workers get access to online courses and weekly or biweekly small-group online tutoring sessions. By guiding them on their path of earning a high school equivalency degree, we can help workers achieve career advancement and upward economic mobility, creating a lasting effect on families and communities for generations to come.
ProLiteracy has assembled a distance learning team that will lead enrolled employees in their pursuit of a high school credential beginning in the next fiscal year.
