Gear up for #GivingTuesday!

#GivingTuesday is less than a week away. After giving thanks on Thanksgiving and shopping deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is the day dedicated to giving back.

What is #GivingTuesday?

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that is celebrated each year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. This year, #GivingTuesday is on November 29.

#GivingTuesday creates an opportunity for donors, volunteers, and supporters to come together, get involved in their communities, and back the causes they care about most. It harnesses the collective power of nonprofits, businesses and corporations, families, and individuals, to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in impacting the world.

How Can You Get Involved?

Visit the social media profiles and websites of the nonprofits and causes that you support, and see if they are participating in #GivingTuesday. If adult literacy and adult education is on the list of causes you’d like to support this #GivingTuesday, then we invite you to join us and help adults worldwide improve their lives through literacy.

Here are ways you can help on #GivingTuesday:

  1. Browse our gift catalog and donate to a worthy cause. Any donations made before #GivingTuesday will be matched by a generous donor, dollar for dollar, up to $1,000.
  2. Find a local literacy program and sign up to volunteer.
  3. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter and share our updates leading up to and during #GivingTuesday.
  4. Share this blog post with friends and family and tell them about the impact of adult literacy.

Mark your calendars and let’s make this #GivingTuesday the greatest one yet!
