The 2017 ProLiteracy Conference on Adult Literacy is fast approaching and there is plenty to look forward to!

This year’s conference will be held just minutes away from Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the Radisson Blu Mall of America, September 27 to 30.

To best meet the current and emerging professional development needs of adult literacy practitioners and advocates, we've designed our national conference to address the issues of technology and innovation, sustainability and fundraising strategies, methodology and instruction, advocacy and public awareness, volunteer management and training, HSE preparation, immigration and citizenship, and more.

Conference Logistics

The 2017 ProLiteracy Conference on Adult Literacy brings together individuals and organizations that are passionate about overcoming the literacy challenges and education needs of adult learners across the country and around the world. At this year’s conference, practitioners, advocates, educators, tutors, administrators, directors, and board members will have the opportunity to learn about various methods of addressing the literacy challenges and education needs of adult learners.

There will be more than 100 workshops offered, numerous exhibits to learn at, a student recognition luncheon, and an awards ceremony. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from various speakers and special guests, including politicians, dignitaries, and a panel of experts on adult literacy. Additionally, Wednesday, September 27, conference registrants have the option to attend the ABE Volunteer Management Pre-Conference, hosted by Minnesota Literacy Council. You can find the full conference schedule here.

Attendees will leave with the ability to apply innovative instructional tools and strategies, implement dynamic programming, and enhance management and leadership skills within the adult basic skills programs they are associated with. Organizations and practitioners will learn how to effectively collaborate and build the instructional capacity necessary to deliver literacy services to adult learners, families, and communities.

Conference Raffle

In celebration of our 15th anniversary, ProLiteracy and Southwest Airlines will give away vouchers for round-trip airfare to three lucky Early Bird conference registrants. Early Bird Registration runs May 1 – July 31. On May 15, June 15, and July 15, ProLiteracy will draw the name of one Early Bird registrant at random to receive vouchers redeemable on Southwest Airlines. Winners will be notified by email.
