About this Webinar Series

The High Impact Indicators are skills that the GED Testing Service has identified as applying across subject areas and that, when mastered, are linked to test success. We are hosting three two-hour webinars—one each on reading, writing, and math—that highlight the High Impact Indicators and best practice teaching techniques. In these webinars, we’ll also introduce the new book series from ProLiteracy New Readers Press GED® Test Mastery. This book series features high impact critical thinking skills while providing scaffolded instruction and guided practice.

Reading is key across all GED subjects. In this interactive webinar, we will use close-reading skills to master the High Impact Indicators of making inferences, evaluating evidence, and drawing conclusions. We will also look at how to teach the graphic literacy skills necessary for GED Science and Social Studies test success.

This webinar shows how to build up student writing from sentence creation through to the GED RLA extended response. Learn how to teach grammar most effectively, how to create clear sentences, and how to write strong argument claims.
