The study sheds light on the importance of considering pragmatic, syntactic, and semantic dimensions of numeracy practices in adult literacy education. It demonstrates how older women literacy students engage with and produce their own meanings for school mathematics practices, highlighting the ways in which they navigate social practices and attribute personal significance to them.
