The Urban Alliance for Adult Literacy is a new program in partnership with ProLiteracy made up of a national network of urban adult foundational education coalitions. Its purpose is to facilitate, strengthen, and grow adult literacy and foundational education services among participating coalitions in urban communities. Whether you operate within an urban coalition or you're just interested in gaining a deeper understanding, join us for a 60-minute panel presentation and Q&A to learn more about the Urban Alliance for Adult Literacy. A 30-minute discussion will follow for those who want to dive deeper.
This webinar is for members only. You will need a valid member number when registering. How do we recruit good, qualified volunteers? How do we get them to complete training, take an assignment, and commit to one year of service? And, how do we keep them engaged so they will stay with our programs? These questions are even more important in times of decreasing budgets and increasing wait lists. In this webinar discover why people volunteer, why they don’t, and what this means for recruiting volunteers. We will also talk about matching volunteer offerings to the reasons people volunteer and identify ways to make volunteer opportunities more appealing. At the end of this webinar, participants will leave with strategies they can implement in their local literacy programs.
Our professional development resources help program managers, instructors, trainers, and others build the capacity and quality of adult education programs. Our tools can help your adult literacy programs strengthen skills and learn new strategies to improve student outcomes in reading, writing, and financial literacy.
